Before and After AJ Nuggett

What was your year like AJ Nugget??

How many times have you heard someone say “this was the best year of my life” or “this was the worst year of my life?” We cannot always control what will determine ouryear or life, it can be devastating, it can be amazing and very often, as in the case of AJ Nugget, it can be both.

AJ Nugget did not make a name for himself racing at Mountaineer Racetrack and like many others ended up in a killpen.

Saved from the killpen by group of people,  AJ Nugget arrived at Pure Thoughts Inc. Horse Rescue, emaciated and wounded.

During AJ’s rehabilitation another change took place in his life, he found his way permanently into the heart of Martha Bouza. Martha adopted AJ Nugget and his life had then made the complete change… never again would he be in danger… never again would he be hungry… never again would someone not be thinking of AJ Nugget.

Yesterday AJ Nugget competed in his first show ever and although he may have not heard his name announced at the racetrack, yesterday his name was mentioned many times. AJ Nuggetwho participated in the Plantation Acres Equestrian Center Hunter Show, received three 1st place ribbons, two 2nd place ribbons and a Grand Champion.

There is life after the track; you just need to give a Thoroughbed a chance to live it. AJ Nugget is a 6 year old OTTB who can say that this has been the worst and the best year of his life. Thank you to everyone who helped this boy and to Martha Bouza for seeing the horse within and wanting him for her own.
